Weathering the Storm is produced by staff in the Energy & Environment Program at The Council of State Governments/Eastern Regional Conference (CSG/ERC). Through research and technical assistance, we provide state officials with strategies for strengthening environmental protections while growing the local economy.  This site explores how the increasing frequency of severe weather events are affecting communities throughout the New England and mid-Atlantic states. The site uses multimedia platforms to explore the impacts on a range of sectors, including agriculture, tourism and the region’s infrastructure, and examine the policies being implemented by state and local officials to safeguard their communities going forward. Our goal is to inform about the scope of the changes that are manifesting throughout the region, and facilitate information sharing to enhance preparedness for future severe weather events.
